Building Your Personal Brand is Essential

One of the most important things you can do to build a successful law practice is to build your personal brand. When you build your personal brand your law firm brand will automatically get built as well.

Luckily, so many social media platforms make it feasible to build your personal brand and grow your law practice simultaneously.   It’s as simple as taking out your iPhone, going to Instagram, and hitting the record button. More and more attorneys and law firms are looking to social media platforms such as Instagram and Tik Tok to build their credibility and showcase their expertise in their practice area niche.

A couple of weeks ago I launched a reels for lawyers challenge where we had lawyers from all over the United States participating in creating Instagram reels and Tik Tok videos. The amazing thing was some of these attorneys had never made a Tik Tok or Instagram reel before and they started to make Instagram reels they stayed consistent, and they now come to me and tell me that they’ve gotten leads and they’ve gotten cases from Instagram without spending a penny on marketing.

Of course, it’s important to have a diversified marketing strategy but if you can invest an hour a week and generate leads for your law practice, it is worthwhile.

Create a Content Marketing Strategy for Instagram that Answers the Questions that Your Potential Clients Are Asking

The key to Instagram is to create quality content consistently and build loyal followers who will follow you wherever you go and look forward to seeing your content every day. The goal that you should strive for is to create content that is not only entertaining but it’s also educational and I called that edutainment.

It doesn’t matter what your legal niche is you can create content that answers the most common questions that your clients have on a day-to-day basis you can take their questions and turn those into content ideas whether you’re creating blog posts for your website or whether you’re creating videos for Instagram reels or Tik Tok.

How to Get Started with Instagram for Your Law Practice

Instagram has many features that you can utilize one of the most popular features right now are Instagram reels. If you’re not familiar with Instagram reels they’re basically short-form video content that can be 15, 30, or 60-second short-form video clips.

Instagram is No Longer Just a Photo Sharing App

One of the biggest advantages of utilizing Instagram reels is that the Instagram CEO Adam Mosseri recently announced that Instagram is no longer going to be just a photo-sharing app and what he meant by that comment, is that he’s wanting to promote Instagram reels because they’re trying to compete with Tik Tok.

The key to being successful on Instagram is to give engagement to get engagement; so, if you want people to like or comment on your posts, you must go and actively engage with their posts and leave a genuine comment. Do this for 10-15 minutes and then, upload your Instagram reel right after that.  What it does is that it triggers the algorithm to notify your audience that you commented on their post and that’s the same time that they’re getting alerts and they’re going to see your comment and a lot of them are going to reciprocate by also commenting on your video.  Another advantage of this method is that it gets more of your followers online and they end up seeing your reel right when you post it, which triggers the algorithm, and your reel gets a broader reach.

Another key to using Instagram is to make sure you’re utilizing all the features of Instagram. It is important to utilize Instagram stories, Instagram stickers, Instagram posts, carousel posts, IGTV video, live-streaming, and now there’s live-streaming with four people which is powerful because now you’re tapping into the audience of three additional people that may have never heard about you before.
